At the one year anniversary of each group, all group members are eligible to apply for a loan to start their own business. Funds from the group support the loan, and interest allows for the program to continue to grow.

Empowerment

What do we mean by
economic empowerment?

We see the economic empowerment of women as a key pillar to ending gender-based violence, creating inclusive economic growth and eradicating poverty in eastern Uganda.

Our programs strive to enable women to recognize their self-worth. We want women to utilize economic self-efficacy to gain control over their time, their bodies and to elevate their voices in their communities.

Each year our program adds to the number of women becoming entrepreneurs in their communities. Support our efforts and materials to ensure ACESO never has to say "no" to a woman seeking financial independence.
